A Tip to Help You Stay Organised

Posted on in blog, News, Uncategorized

I was doing a bit of market research today and realised I was using one tool over all other tools, Evernote. I am not sure if you have heard about Evernote, but it is a very handy way of saving everything from images, ideas, web pages, links etc..

Evernote works with your computer, your phone (if it takes apps or can access the internet) or your pads. I ripped the bullet points of what it can do from Evernote (see below).

Evernote (Italicised is from Evernote)

From interests to research, save anything you see online—including text, links and images—into your Evernote account with a single click. Evernote makes it easy to remember things big and small from your everyday life using your computer, phone, tablet and the web.

◊  Keep everything in sync- With Evernote, all of your notes, web clips, files and images are made available on every device and computer you use.

◊  Remember things you like- Save everything cool and exciting you see online and in the real world. Snap a photo, record some audio and save it.

◊  Save favorite webpages- Save entire webpages to your Evernote account with our nifty web clipper browser extensions. You get the whole page: text, images and links.

◊  Research better- Collect information from anywhere into a single place. From text notes to web pages to files to snapshots, everything is always at your fingertips.

◊  Work with friends and colleagues- Share your notes and collaborate on projects with friends, colleagues and classmates.

◊  Plan your next trip- Keep all of your itineraries, confirmations, scanned travel documents, maps, and plans in Evernote, so you’ll have them when you need them.

There are even plugins on your internet browser that will put an icon on your browser that links directly to your evernote. Not only saving your web item but it also lets you tag and ad a description to it so you know why you saved it.

Evernote Web Clipper

◊  Research made easy- With one click, clip part or all of any webpage, including text, images, and links.

◊  Save your interests- Collect everything that inspires you online. Have it forever, even if the original goes away.

◊  Read anywhere- In a rush? Clip webpages to Evernote and read them later on any device you use.

I have plenty of different types of software on my computer, like Microsoft Onenote, that does what Evernote does and more, but I keep finding myself using Evernote instead of these. This could be because of the tagging element, which means I connect it to a specific area of research or to a client and retrieve all that is related to that activity in one easy click. I suppose it keeps me organised when by my very nature I can be anything but.

So, I hope this little tip can help you stay on top of all that you have going on as well.
